Lekai

Named for Ambassador Lekai Obour, Lekai is the infant son of Baroness Ilsabet Obour and either Lord Jorani or Baron Peto Casse. After a highly poisonous spider attacked and the baroness did nothing, Lekai might've been killed if not for the thick shirt the child wore. When the Baroness expressed sentiments to turn the child into an alchemical vampire, Jorani ordered Sagra to get the child away. Sagra took Lekai fleeing Nimbus Castle and into the Mists. By the time Ilsabet caught up with Sagra, she was already dead, having fallen from a rise above the Arvid River. There was no sign of the baby, other than the clothing Sagra had presumably removed to rid him of the spider. Lekai himself was never found by Ilsabet, and his fate remains a mystery unsolved in the book.
