Julianna Estovina

Juliana Estovina is a character from the novel Heart of Midnight. She was the great grandniece of Zhone Clieous and the lover of Casimir Lukas. After Casimir outed Clieous as a werewolf and took his place as Meistersinger of Harmonia, Julianna became "first lady of the realm". She helped Casimir institute various social reforms, but was kept in the dark about Casimir's own beastly nature throughout their rule. Thoris arranged several attempts for her to escape to Gundarak for her own safety. Twice the attempts were foiled. During the third attempt, Juliana discovered Casimir's true nature as he attacked Harkon Lukas (though Lukas did not reveal his true nature to her). Temporarily incapacitated by a poison, Harkon Lukas could not transform. Just as Casimir was about to tear out Harkon's throat, Juliana struck Casimir dead with an cold iron dagger to the back. Unsure of whether Lukas was truly a monster or not, she stabilized his bleeding wounds but otherwise left him to his own devices. With Casimir deceased and Harkon down for the count, Julianna escaped to Gundarak with the help of the raunie Madame Duccia and her tribe of Vistani.
