Giant scarab beetles are a type of scarab beetle and vermin that can be encountered in deserts, underground, and in tombs, and they avoid bright light. At 5' long, they are much larger than their Fine cousins, the grave scarab beetle, but also smaller than their larger cousins, the monstrous scarab beetle. Though giant scarab beetles do not go dormant like their smaller cousins, giant scarab beetles are ironically much less aggressive than grave scarab beetles and usually refrain from attacking unless violently provoked. Otherwise, they mostly search for already deceased organisms to feed upon.[1][2]
Giant scarab beetles carry filth fever, and should they deign to attack their bites can deliver that disease.[3][2]
Giant Scarab Beetles are native to Har'Akir.
