Isn't this the same as an Ethnicity? DeepShadow 22:02, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

IMHO, yes. All in favor of a merge? -- Gonzoron 00:03, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Sorry. I didn't realize we had an Ethnicity page. Please merge (although I do like Ethnic Group more than Ethnicity). --ChrisNichols 00:06, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
Anyone else care which we use? I don't. If only Chris does, we can use Ethnic Group. -- Gonzoron 02:03, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
I like Ethnic Group, too. DeepShadow 02:09, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

If I was doing to describe Teufeldorf as Gundarakite, which it is historically and in terms of its overwelming ethnic make up, then are we creating a problem if we are using Ethnic Group, as Teufeldorf is not an ethnic group, but is rather something of an ethnic group, which ethnicity seems to better catch?Cure 15:29, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Well, I made the switch before I saw Cure's comment, (though of course it could be switched back). But I think that's a bigger issue than among ethnicity. it also applies to nationalities too. Right now we have ethnicities and nationalities under society, which was supposed to be a group of npcs. But they can be applied to other things as well. (see Category:Barovian. I don't know if it's worth separating "Barovian people" from "Barovian things". Perhaps we can just live with it. Perhaps the assumption of "each thing in Category:X is an X" only applies to the monsters. Maybe we can relax it for other areas of the wiki. (In any case, I don't see Ethnicity applying to an object or place any better than Ethnic Group does, but that's might be just me). -- Gonzoron 17:34, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
