Despite their name, the Angels^[1] are not angels or even celestials. Rather, they are the misbegotten creations of Dr. Sebastian Robarts' surgical prowess and Trueblood's magic. The Angels have had their flesh and bone reshaped, their internal organs rearranged, providing them with abnormal anatomy and abnormal physiology impossible for normal humans. Many have also had mechanical parts added to their bodies. Henry Thorpe provided most of them with metal wings.

The Angels were once kidnapped women taken from the streets of England. Although Robarts had "benign" (if truly mad and grandiose) purposes for them, Trueblood hoped to use them as weapons to invade and conquer realms beyond the Mists, perhaps even heaven. He sent them out to attack St. Agnes and wipe out its people as a test run for invading other realms. However, when he was defeated, they were temporarily freed of his control. One of them begged Sophie Huxley to order them to destroy themselves, and she reluctantly ordered them to fly out to sea and drown themselves. However, the Mists intervened and engulfed them, taking them back to Bryani-House-of-the-Mists, where they remain watching over Dr. Robarts. The Angels were never given game statistics, so any creature types below are therefore speculative.
