The serpent folk of Deir el Medina represent the remnants of its original human population, their ancestors transformed by Set when they fled underground following the collapse of Akiri civilization. They dwell in the Temple of Set beneath the city, feasting off of farmed rats and mice and spawning in horrible orgies in their spawning pits.[1]
