An effigy is an incorporeal undead that burns with jealousy and resentment of the living in the life energy they have and the lives they lead. An effigy ultimately seeks to be the usurper to assume control over a humanoid's life and even their identity through possession. Unfortunately, control is fleeting because the figurative fire of hatred the effigy feels is matched by physical fire the body exudes.[1]

An effigy attacks with its incorporeal touches. It touch inflicts both fire damage and energy drain and also allows the effigy to attempt to posses the target. If an effigy's possessed victim fails to expel the effigy through a contest of will, then the victim quickly burns alive, either from the fire or the energy drain, both of which the victim is exposed to every round.[2]
