A carcass, narrowly speaking, is equally a fairly fresh animal corpse and the body of a recently dead animal. In the Land of Mists the definition is widened beyond animals to include non-humanoids generally and even all species but one's own in the case of the most ardent of racists. A body of a demihuman is, for example, a carcass in Falkovnia.
