Carnagan Wolfe is a natural lycanthrope and mountain loup-garou whose parents originally hailed from Toril, but he was born after they had entered The Mists. Soon after, his family was slaughtered by a group of monster hunters ledy Dr. Rudolph Van Richten. He was spared because he was in human form at the time and rescued by an Ezrite anchorite named Lian. Carnagan was raised at Port-a-Lucine's Temple of Ezra. He discovered his true nature encountering a vampire, the ensuing fall-out causing him to flee the temple with which he called home.[1]

Wolfe later settled down in Verbrek, where he was taken in by the local werewolf population. However, he eventually had a falling out with them because he aided humans in escaping their hunt. For this transgression, Alfred Timothy cursed Wolfe by putting his soul into a longsword. Timothy declared that Wolfe must use the sword to kill a creature (not a werewolf) at least once per month else the sword will render Wolfe into a bloodthirsty beast free of any restraint. After that, Wolfe was exiled. Since then, Wolfe has found a way to deal with the curse by hunting and destroying the Undead.[2]

Wolfe's longsword is Harbinger, a +1 longsword, +3 vs. undead.[3]

Carnagan Wolfe was created by Mark Jackman for the Book of Secrets.
