Captain Dandret

Captain Dandret is a captain of one of Invidia's press gangs. He is the one responsible for "discovering" Gesmas Malaturno and bringing him to the attention of Invidian authorities (specifically, the Inquest. When his sergeant attempted to proceed with the execution on his own, Captain Dandret killed him with a throwing knife and had his body dragged behind a horse all the way to Valetta.

The captain was undeniably vain, a less-than-stellar horseman, not hugely intelligent, and had no moral or ethical concerns about killing people. However, he was not wholly unfair, and at the very least demonstrated a desire to serve his master's interests to the best of his ability and to maintain discipline. While his skills with a horse were subpar, his skills with the throwing knife were excellent.
