Captain Alfred Dreyfus

Captain Alain Drefus was the Captain of the French Army and an officer in the General Staff. He was a central figure in the Dreyfus Affair. Captain Dreyfus became the focus of a political scandal in the Dreyfus Affairs. Falsely accused and incarcerated for leaking state secrets to Germany, leaked documents continued to trickle into Germany after Dreyfus' imprisonment. Although attempts to bring truth to the matter and bring Dreyfus to freedom via the courts mostly failed, he was eventually pardoned by President Loubet.
