From Curse of Strahd. A fortressed mansion belonging Argynvost, Argynvostholt was the headquarters of the formerly good and heoric Order of the Silver Dragon. However, it was besieged by Strahd's forces during the war to conquer the valley of Barovia and the order was slain their along with their commander, Vladimir Horngaard, and draconic master. Now it is the dwelling place for the Order's undead host, led by Horngaard and reanimated by his hatred.[1]
Though slain, Argynvost's spirit also lingers on, after a fashion.[2] If his skull can be brought to his mausoleum at the ruins of Argynvost and sealed within (Q16), his spirit shines on the tower's top (Q53), the Beacon of Argynvost, to lay all the restless undead revenants to rest. The beacon can be seen from many locations within Barovia[3] Argynvost's skull is presently located in the Hall of Boens (Area K67) of Castle Ravenloft.[4]
