Gundarak is a former core domain, originally ruled by Duke Gundar, and later by Dr. Daclaud Heinfroth. It was absorbed by Invidia and Barovia during the Grand Conjunction.
Chronology
- 593 BC - First known contact between Barovians and Gundarakites.[3]
- 641 BC - Duke Gundar tries to force the bards of the [[Morts-Qui-Dancent to serve as his spies. When they refuse, Duke Gundar calls on his son Medraut Gundar to torture them and curse them with a unique form of cursed undeath. The bards are required to regularly entertain others or face loss of the energy that animates them.[5]
- 643 BC-659 BC - Gundarakite loggers exploit the forests of Forlorn. However, when they delve in too near to Castle Tristenoira, Tristen gathers his goblyns and drives the loggers off.[6]
- 706 BC - Maeve (Leader of the Oak Faction), future leader of the Oak Faction of Forfarian] druids, is born in Teufeldorf in Gundarak.[7]
- 720 BC - In Barovia, Lord Soth kills all of a Vistani Tribe except for the young Magda Ilyanova Kulchevich. Her life is spared on the condition she act as a guide for Soth. After traveling through Barovia and Gundarak, Magda escapes Soth and his sidekick Azrael Dak.[8] Strahd manipulates Soth into going after Duke Gundar. Soth and Azrael penetrate Castle Hunedora, and Azrael kills Medraut Gundar as part of an effort to open a portal in the castle's basement. The effort fails.[9]
- 711 BC - Duke Gundar's men kidnap Orinda and Perryn from Invidia and bring them to Castle Hunadora. Perryn sacrifices his own life to save Orinda, but Orinda is still maimed. After retrieving and cremating Perryn's corpse, Orinda rides to Kartakass, where she becomes Meistersinger of Chord and retires from adventuring.[10]
- 720 BC-722 BC - Magda Kulchevich spends two years fleeing from Gundarakite bounty hunters and the minions of Duke Gundar. Along the way, she begins gathering aa group Vistani followers that will eventually become the inter-tribe group known as the Wanderers.[8]
- 730 BC - Ardonk Szerieza, future Gundarakite resistance leader, is born.[11]
- 740 BC - The Grand Conjunction causes the land that was formerly in Gundarak to be split down the middle between Barovia and Invidia.Cite error: Invalid
