Tanya is a vengeful ghost who inhabits the roads between Teufeldorf and Skald. She vents her wrath on any travelers she meets, only wanting to get revenge on fate for being so cruel to her.[1]

She was once a prostitute working in Karina. This changed when she became exiled after Nikolai framed her for the murder of his wife. Following this, she was taken in by a group of Vistani and traveled with them for a time until they reached Skald. Before they left her, the tribe's seer Madame Zulmira gave her a powder to use on any of her future guardians who should abuse her.[2]

In Skald, Tanya met Dmitri (Merchant), whom took her in and employed her as a maid. He was cruelly abusive towards her, and locked her in his house to make sure she wouldn't escape. As Tanya was told, she sprinkled the magic dust on Dmitri's sleeping form and fled. Soon after her escape, she discovered that Dmitri had perished, and she was to take the blame. Unknowingly, she had become the patsy for another murder, the Vistani's revenge against Dmitri for crimes long past.[3]

Tanya fled Skald fleeing the stones of the townspeople. She collapsed from exhaustion on the crossroads of Teufeldorf and Skald, where she was devoured by wolves.[4]
