Hi guys! Some info about me, in the same format you used earlier:

Age : 28
Occupation: Medic , United States Army
Playing D&D since : sometimes in the mid eighties-but only regularly since about 1992.

Rule System: I use 3.5 , nowadays

Favorite settings: Ravenloft, Birthright

Games running: none , at the moment

non D&D RPG experience: Call of Cthulhu, Cyberpunk, Marvel Super Heroes, most of the stuff Palladium has published, most of the World of Darkness games , Over the Edge, Gamma World, GURPS , Stormbringer, Star Wars[West End and D20 versions], etc.

non D&D RPG interests: maybe Traveller, if I can find someone who wants to run it.

other interests and hobbies: reading , medicine, history, politics, Middle East, watching cartoons with my wife :D , outdoors stuff, riding my bicycle

in my kitchen: Ha! I am in Iraq-I have no kictchen.

on my desk: I do, however, have a desk. On it is a hygiene kit, a notebook, and whatever paperback I am reading at the moment.

my choice of non gothic avatars for this board: a pesky squirrel

what I do in the SB game: play
Delight is to him- a far, far upward, and inward delight- who against the proud gods and commodores of this earth, ever stands forth his own inexorable self.

Be *officially* welcomed, Ewan!

Some of you might remember Ewan as one of the first who posted here when the game opened back in november, but couldn't join due to time restrictions. The cooler it is that he now finally found his way into the mists! :)

Wait, an RPG called "Stormbringer"? Is that based off of the Elric novels by Michael Moorcock? If so, is it any good? I'd be interested in looking into something like that, if the RPG resources lived up to the books.

And as a "duh" realization, Moorcock -> Moorkroft?

I so need to get my own introduction done, at some point...
My name is lost to me
I know not who I am
And I await the crimson fires
That'll wash this world away!

I'm off for two weeks holiday shortly. I believe the hotel should have internet, but just in case it all goes quiet, you'll know why! Just assume Shana is a little out of it...

Yes, Stormbringer is based on the Elric novels. It is published by Chaosium, and uses a variant of the Call of Cthulhu rules system. I liked it, but some people prefer AD&D for running in the Young Kingdoms. There was also a Hawkmoon game, by the same company. It might be out of print now....

Moorkroft was indeed inspired by Moorcock, the name anyway. My PC is sort of a Puritan adventurer-like Solomon Kane. He is less of a badass , and more gifted in dealing with supernatural threats, however. Various ''preacher with a gun'' characters in old Westerns were an influence , too.

No problem! Have fun on your holidays and thank you for letting us know! :)

As to Stormbringer, never played it, but is said to be very cool gaming world... Although I personally prefer Hawkmoon to Elric... :)

Introduction and language

Post by LouisVendredi »

Hello all.

I will be inserting myself into the game shortly. I will give an IC description at the time. But, I was wondering, what language is everyone speaking, so I will know if I will understand what is said to me.

I'll provide a better map ASAP - for the moment, this one may work, since you don't really see your enemies...

Could you point out where the front door I just ran through is on the map?
