Good idea, I will get travel clothes and a pack for Theophilus as well.

That comes to 3 gp per slave.

GATHER INFO
FOR ALAIN
BASED ON PRIVATE COMMS
but not a secret--he's looking into local laws

0
_8 = 16

Not bad.

Alain will learn that the laws are complex and written to strongly favor the government and the wealthy. Woe betide a poor man hauled into court over even a minor offense. It looks as if lords and Banite priests can and do get away with murder so long as their victims are unimportant people and they have some plausible excuse.
Slaves are chattels and killing one isn't even considered manslaughter.

Excellent.

Everyone has posted, PMed, etc. and

Kintire said she'd be on vacation, so...

We have responses to the poll and a pretty clear plan of action, OOC.

Update time.

WOLFGLIDE should post in the KLOKULF chapter, 10.5, obviously.

Everybody else, unless one of you wants to stay in Zhentil Keep after all, should post in Chapter 11, Road to Phlan.

Alain and Sir Clive hear noises without a roll.

DC 20 Listen for any light sleepers to hear some noises and wake up, and you need only roll if you wish.
Of course, if another PC wakens your guy, no roll needed.

Does Raen wake up by the fireballs or lightingbolts or whatever is going on?

Also, Raen will make his anti-slavery remarks once they are away from ZKeep (more than a day that is). But he doesn't hide that he is uncomfortable with the idea.

Nat 20 on Listen, so, yes, Raen wakes instantly, alert to the noises.

I guess he didn't drink too much of that zambook.

Which is like sambuca, by the way. You ever drink that, Alhoon? I'm guessing you've probably had it or else ouzo.

does it appear to moving away or getting closer?
History prefers legends to men. It prefers nobility to brutality, soaring speeches to quiet deeds. History remembers the battle and forgets the blood. What ever history remembers of me if it remembers me at all, it shall only be the fraction of the truth.

Neither, maybe. Or not moving quickly towards or away from your camp, at any rate.

In the library of the temple, Klokulf will be interested in looking for history books pertaining to Vaasa, to see if he can find any reference tying it to Nova Vaasa.

I sure hope there are staff on hand to help, and to put back all the books I just misplaced.

LOL

No luck this time, but he can try again tomorrow if he likes, having at least acquired some sense of where NOT to look.

OK, Raen wide awake. Does it look to be a mage-battle in the distance? And what distance are we talking about if Raen could guess? He knows fireball is 20ft radius so it could help as a reference if it looks life fireball. He knows how long a lighting bolt is so again, it could help as reference.
It's more of a "is it 500 ft or a mile?" type of question.
