A halfling walks to church (3)
Nostalia smiles and Heinrich could see her cheeks had turned slightly red -perhaps she was aware of the effect her legs were having on him. In any case she rushes outside for a moment and soon returns with several servants and a rack of clothing. In minutes the group find all the things they require to become their festival choices.

Heinrich donned a tricorner hat, cloak and pair of gloves. He then inspected himself in the mirror, straightening the hat so it laid properly on his head.
"Yes, very much how I remember him in the woodcut I once saw. Truly remarkable."
He then turned and bowed slightly to Nostalia, lifting his newly acquired hat as he did so.
"You have my thanks once more my lady, you are indeed a woman of many surprises and resources."

“Let’s hope that everything we do works, I can dare even think what will happen to us if we fail.” Says Kimuriel with serious face. Then he moves closer to the cloths Nostalia has brought.
The psion picks a pair of glasses and dark brown cloak. But soon after, he makes a grimace and picks up a hat. Shaking it a bit before putting it on, says:
“I prefer to disguise myself as a human, because I know that some people tend to be a bit… strange with non- humans. I believe that if I let my hair down and wear the hat, I’ll be like human.”
Kimuriel bows by his turn to Nostalia, unties his long hair and wears the glasses and the hat.
“Well, what do you think?”

"I prefer to disguise myself as anyhting other than who and what I am, since the invasion Falkovnians have been even less welcome elsewhere outside our land. A hat and mask will provide an excellent guise for me to pass as Weathermay."

In minutes the party is ready and masks are handed out. The likeness of Artemis' disguise dashed with some illusionary magic of the mask give him an extreme resemblance to Hazlik, the Red Mage, making some wonder why he would have such an obvious talent for makeup and disguise.
Finally prepared each member is gifted with a forged invitation to the party -an obvious pointless formality as in most cases no one unwanted would even be in the house, save of course their present company. Nostalia takes Heinrich's arm with her and the two proceed forward and out of the room follwed by Kimuriel and Artemis and finally Ixevim. Proceeding up the stairs they take a different route from the roof walkways that took them to the loyalist quaters. Instead they begin a walk through a series corridors and secret passages -lead by the same man in grey suit that had briefed them of the party. Arriving to one final door he stops the group.
"Behind this passage lies a storage room just outside the long hallway leading to the Ballroom. Walk outside and turn left then proceed. Good luck."

Kimuriel remains still for a moment, the piercing look of his green eyes fells to all his companions. It seems as he controls them, their disguise, emotions, everything. Satisfied enough, he gets a smile, but both Ixevim and Artemis understand that he is a bit nervous. The half-elf doesn’t feel any particular fear, but he is tensed. He trusts himself, his innate abilities and believes that with the help of the others they can have some chances, but despite the mission itself, the thought that maybe one of them can be a traitor, makes him feel uneasy.
Always silent, the psion concentrates and touches his chest. A translucent matter appears and covers him. His inertial barrier is activated again.
Moving beside Artemis, Kimuriel asks:
“I think we’re ready to enter, right?”

OOC> Is Ixevim with the group next to the storage room, or he has taken a slightly different way and is now hidden and invisible out of the ball room, looking in from the Glass? This was the initial plan, but now I prefer to have a more active role in the situation than hanging invisible outside directing thralls.

OOC: I have no idea alhoon, but it cuold be possible to have Ixevim with us instead of outseide if you prefer, but I didn't really draw up the plans.
IC:
Heinrich adjusts the sword under his cloak so it is more inconspicuous and nods to Kimuriel while taking Nostalia's arm in his.
"As ready we I will ever be. If you have any trouble while not with me, you know what to do and I will come running."
He turns to Nostalia and smiles.
"And do not worry, I will see that no harm comes your way either, I stake my honour on it."

Nostalia holds Heinrich's hand to her masked face for a tender moment, though when she speaks she seems slightly worried -no doubt concerning the task they were about to undertake.
"Thankyou dear Heinrich, but we must carry out the mission regardless of the toll. It is for the people and for Borca."
At this moment Ixevim joins the group and explains his change of plan. In his mind he does not explain that the traitor still lurks with them and had probably informed Pieter at Lord Rechio's cost. Taking a costume on his way back after making up his mind he now appears as a costumed knight with tin armor.
Nodding to the strangely uniformed mindflayer Artemis opens the passage and the five; Artemis, Kimuriel, Nostalia, Heinrich and Ixevim, walk outside into the house proper.
Following the instructions given they are standing at the end of a well lit hallway before two grand oak doors within minutes. Two guards in decked out finery stand at attention as another checks their invitations. Walking inside for a moment he announces them as their costumed identity and then allows them in as each name is called.
The mice had finally entered the cat's lair.
The Ballroom was in one word: Magnificent. A huge domed skylight stood above the occupants with designs of religous and political significance. Such intricate pictures of tinted glass allowed for a merging of colours on the floor giving the room a warm glow as the sunset outside. Groups of people sat at tables along the skirts of the room while a long central stage stood infront of the door ahead. An full orchestra sat and played on the cloth covered stage filling the room with the music of life. To the left were a few stairs leading to an elevated open doorway -inside they could see a kitchen and foodplates of exotic meals and fruits.
While to the right was another door that occasionally a couple would slip into all smiles and giggling. Centrally however was the life of the party. Men and women in colourful costumes and masks danced in intricate patterns and swirls. Knights, magicians and sorcerors, creatures of the fey, Ixevim even spotted one woman dressed in a poor imitation of a illithid. All forms of the imagination danced as the music grew. Performers from the East, North and South tumbled and walked on stilts, some spitting flames, others -beautiful men and women balanced themselved on silk drapes from above, twisting and falling in wonderful patterns.
After the intial shock of the contrasts of Pieter's and Ivana's worlds the group's eyes scan the area. A few guards wandered in the populace of the room but they had no doubt some of those cotsumed were also well armed.
Artemis, seeing this sign of culture turned to his friends.
"Best we... err slip into the swing of things first." he rambled out without pausing to dive into the crowd. Charming a serving girl from her caterer's position with unheard words and smiles he rushed her towards the stage -a huge grin on his face as a waltz began.

Heinrich watches the room for a long time, taking in as much detail as he can about the occupants, where the guards are, what weaponry is visible on bot hthe guests and the guards. His trained eyes also spot a few guests who may also be guards in disguise from their weaponry. As Artemis wanders off, he mutters to himself before speaking louder for the others to hear him.
"Keep and eye on Artemis, I do not trust him. But we may as well follow his lead."
Quickly he snatches to drinks from a tray carried by a passing servant and offers one to Nostalia.
"May I offer you a drink my lady?"

Kimuriel scans the whole area, but especially around the stage. He wants to remember every detail of the room, so if he has to run he can move more easily. Nodding to Heinrich, says:
“It has past a long time from the last time I have danced, I hope to remember some waltz’s steps.”
With that Kimuriel moves at the left side of the room, not far away from the stage, bows at a beautiful elf woman and starts dancing with her."

Nostalia nods demurely and accepts the drink.
"It is remarkable what the taxpayers money can afford." she whispers to Heinrich as the two observe the room.
Kimuriel has only completed one waltz when he spots a familiar figure standing near the stage. Leaning against the stand is a short gangly man with pot belly and tuxedo tails, smoking a thick cigarette he seems strangely out of place when near all this beautiful looking people.
Looking on with barely concealed contempt and boredom Lurzed took a deep drag on his cigarette and then put it out on a passing food tray. Sighing he sighed before digging his hands back into his pockets and wandering off into the crowd.
Heinrich too suddenly spotted someone familiar -Otto Feldspur, Director against Falkovnian resistance, stood to the side of the room talking with two guards. The man who had slain hundreds of Falkovnian citizens in 'reallocation' of past Falkovnian land to their Invidian betters was here.

OOC> Ixevim is protected with a mage armor and a protection from arrows.
IC. Ixevim looks at the masked woman with distaste. A woman immitating a mind flayer! Playing to be something she doesn't even comprehend. He mentally checks his thralls and finding everything all right, activates his levitating power (just in case) but still steps on the floor.
After the dance Ixevim connects with the minds of his friends. "Everything seems right for now. However be prepared for a strong shock. I'll try to spread panic when the time comes to make things for guards far more difficult. Fear is a weapon my kin use with success for years. If you want me to tell something to someone else of our group do so now, while I'm in contact with you. I'll make contact every so often to keep us informed."
After doing his duty of passing information with his telepathy from one party member to the other, Ixevim starts doing minor tricks with his mind.
He uses his minor telekinetic powers to put some uncertainity to the dancing people. Nothing to obvious, things that can be rationalized by the victims as "it was just my idea", but leaving a seed of uncertainity.
Like moving a wine cup a few inches when nobody is paying attention. When the owner (an overweight woman) tried to reach it, it wasn't there. From her face Ixevim was satisfied that she remembered that she hasn't let the cup where she found it.
Also he did feats that could be passed as a trick of the eye, like pulling a fork half an inch while a young noble was looking at it. When he said that to his friends, they laughed and told him he just had much wine. The puzzled noble wasn't sure.
After a while Ixevim decided to speak to Nostalia's mind and inform her of his nature.
"Lady Nostalia Romaine,"
Nostalia looked suprises around her, not knowing what that voice in her head was.
"Don't worry, it is me, Doctor Xevim. I can talk to people's minds . . . among other things."
Ixevim gave Nostalia a few moments to compose herself. She did it remarkably well. There seem to be very few things that motivated or scared Nostalia.
"Lady Romaine, I have to inform you about my true nature. I'm not a human."
Puzzlement. The woman's emotions were just mild puzzlement. Not fear.
"I'm on your side even if I'm not a human and I won't betray you. I tell you this since we will probably have to fight together and I wouldn't want you as an enemy.
I'm a mind flayer."

OOC: Heinrich is protected by his chain shirt and that's about it for the moment, unless something else was used on him, my mind is a bit fried right now, lol.
IC:
As Heinrich surveyed the room, he whispered to Nostalia several people about the room he suspected to be guards in disguise before noticing Otto Feldspur. The aging warrior speaks in sad tones as he explains the man.
"If you would see the man smoking across there, the one in the tuxedo, he is a evil man with fewer morals that the cruelest of creatures. He puts hundreds to death in my homeland by his own command, calling them traitors. You may have herd of him, he is Otto Feldspur. I hope he does not recognise me with the mask for he would undoubtadly marked me as a traitor by now and my discovery here would make it extremely... difficult for me to remain in Borca."
The warrior noted Nostalia's sudden shock and gently took her hand in his own, holding it in a comforting fashion.
"Are you quite alright my lady? You have grown quite pale. Perhaps you need to sit a moment?"
Seeking a seat for his companion, he spies a familiar face among the guards, one of the men loyal to the Dukkar that he abandoned some days before. This was starting to become very interesting, especially seeing more old enemies appear about him. Did they know he was here?
