Basically I'm trying to get ahead of the fires and break the fire line of pitch or something.

Dex check.

A successful INT check might also help.

Any pirates threatening us? Any pirates about to shoot more arrows to the sacks?
If yes: Fild runs to the mage, grabs the Arquebus and shoots the pirate!
If no: Fild attempts to use a pole, row or plank to push sacks of grain into the sea. He's not getting close to the things if it can be avoided.

They are busy, for now, trying to put of the fire on their vessel.
(One successful seamanship roll next round will do it, but that represents team effort.)

Shoot them as they try to do it then. If they have to take cover, they will be less prone to put out the fire.

BANG!

Hits AC 7 or 8.

Tom will do the same thing as Fild did, take cover and fire two arrows at them.

Probably a grazing shot, or else he hit a mast or spar and sent splinters flying.

Still, it counts as a hit, does minimal damage, and makes guys duck or jump away.

Missed his DEx but made his INT.

He can aid another to give ONE other player character an effective plus one to DEX.

Pointing out the best place to cut the fire chain, probably.

Party needs two more successes on DEX checks this round or the fire spreads along at least a good chunk of the waterfront.

METAFLUX

VARRUS THE ETHICAL

LORD SKYBOLT

The PCs of those players all still have actions this round, if the players wish to do stuff.

It's been about a week.

No rush, but in the interests of moving the game along, I will assume that those three PCs do continue to assist the party.

I believe I am following the players' intent in this. If any of the players object, I am happy to edit.

They get the blaze under control.

But it did do some damage.

And it delayed them.
