Unless we are told we know nothing.

But we can ask Alfonse if the assassins caught him on his way to Aldron's

Two failures, but GERTIE fails by a wider margin.

GERTIE still could try.

But it would look pretty suspicious.

Makes sense.

Good RP, too.
I like that she is curious about the assassins and Alfonse.

Lets just say she isn't in a very trusting mood after all that has happened this evening.

Tom doesn't trust Aldron even a bit now, he knows that Alfonse went to see him. Later assassins bust the cabin and then Alfonse miracusosly arrives to save the day against a masked man...The only one who knew where they were hiding is the mage and then Aldron. And of course few hours later we were ambushed and Aldron was the one that did the plan... So I guess he can assume Aldron or at least one of his men is involved.

Reasonable assumption.

You were set up.

Aldron would be one of the natural suspects. Probably the prime one.

Tom will take the Watch leader apart with Elissa and Gertie and Alfonse if they want to come and tell him everything. He will insist that they tried to help Aldron when was attacked by the thugs, he then offered them one job and then the other. He will ask Elissa to show the leader the locket Aldron gave them and back their story that they tried their best to save her when things went south. Of course he will mention that Aldron made the plan and they run into assassins first time, Richard crest, the fake priest and that few hours later the assassins found them again when Alfonse went to talk with Aldron...He will not clearly say that Foelbre is guilty, he will mention the facts and let the Watch leader make the assumption.

Diplomacy check if needed:

Tom's 1st priority is Elissa and Richard to be saved and if possible Aldron to face justice.
He knows that now the marriage will be almost impossible but at least the couple will be protected by its family. If more people know what happened less possibilities will have the assassins to try the same thing again. Even if some of them are bribed will not be all of them, same with Hoblin's soldiers. So those honest will do their best to protect Elissa and Richard.

Now what will happen to the foreigners that messed with nobility is totally different but Tom doesn't know that. He feels responsible that has risked Elissa's life.

Gertie feels the same way. She won't talk unless spoken to. When it comes to nobility she in't that fons of the whole notion, ELissa does seem nice enough and she will feel better when the lady is safely back home.
