Gertie wants to flee with Elissa.
She can make it to Elissa this round with a retreat action. That may risk a back attack.

She could withdraw in that direction at no immediate risk (because her side has initiative).

Is there an advantage to attacking these guys after they tripped over each other?

"Of course," Benn mutters, "It would be a damned shame if we ever knew what the hell was actually going on."

Other swordsman baddies switch targets.

They chase Elissa (and GERTIE) leaving Alfonse and Thom to deal with the crossbowmen, the false friar, and the masks.

They are swinging swords. Tried to chop her in the head a moment before.

Are you dead certain you want GERTIE to just sit down and let these guys catch her?
They may kill. They certainly seem to intend that...

And, no, she cannot attack now. She is withdrawing after Elissa this round. Ignore that roll.

CLARIFICATION

ELISSA IS RUNNING AWAY.

GERTIE IS WITHDRAWING AFTER HER, CRACKING HER WHIP AT PURSUERS.

ALFONSE IS WHACKING AT BADDIES WITH HIS STAFF, STILL IN THE STONE CIRCLE AREA.

GEM GOES WITH THOM.
