Not trying to get rid of them or anything, just butter them up.

Any notes on proper means of introducing oneself to a lady in Povero? This is, of course, a hell of a time to think of it.

He should certainly bow.
It's up to him whether he wants to bow and scrape (his boot heel, on the pavement).
If she offers her hand to kiss, he should. But if she does not, he should not reach for it. That would be rude. (And her bodyguards might not react well to such forward moves...)
Signora or My Lady would be appropriate forms of address.
He ought to give his name and business before asking her questions.

If he has the ETTIQUETTE NWP, you can roll against that to improve your chance of making a good impression/getting a hearing.

Fild is probably closer in social station to the bodyguards than is Alfonse. Maybe a bit lower, being a nonhuman.
(Alfonse is higher in station. But if these men guard a wellborn/wealthy lady, they are likely used to talking with middle and upper class types when necessary)

Fild doesn't have anything to say to them though... And station aside, this is D&D world; those six can probably take 20 guards. That counts for something.

It's a fairly 'realistic' D&D setting, but it is still a D&D setting.
My stabs at realism are more a matter of style and world building details than rule changes. Silver standard, controlling the availability of magic items and spellcasting services, watching out for overpopulation of monsters near civilized zones, some attention paid to social class/rank etc.

For now, Gertie has not acknowledged ALfonse as she is unsure if they are "supposed" to know each other in this situation. She leaves that up to ALfonse as he is
the more experienced person here.

Re: POVERO Campaign OOC
Also, did ALdron have anything to say about this shop to Gertie, seeing she wouldn't be aware of it's rules, etc etc.
