However, stun is a called shot now, as this isn't backstab. So, no, the blow is ineffective.

Tom may take one more swipe at a fleeing thug and then they have left the alley, nearly bowling him and his sis over in their frantic escape.

Yeah, miss.

You guys are scaring them, though.

Dog is barking and jumping.

Thugs make loyalty check to see if any of them grabs the stunned one.
Otherwise he is left behind.

Okay-- quick check shows swordsman is winded, maybe hurt.

Are you chasing thugs? Helping this guy you just aided?

Something else?

I will write up the scene in a minute.

If we don't have a rope, I know she doesn't, use her whip as a rope to tie his hands together.

The thugs are going at the group's direction? If yes then Tom will chase them with Gem. Otherwise go alone against 5 isn't wise.

Tom has a rope so he can toss it to Gertie to tie the thug.

Exactly, Tom was lucky to take one down that fast but I don't risk have an encounter alone with 5 thugs.

No, they are running further from the town center.

Though the alley is dim, Gertie and Tom can see that the man before them wears good quality clothing, a doublet and hose. He looks trim, athletic, and handsome.
Gertie's goggles fog up... he he he

The man doesn't say anything about the coins, then.
But he does laugh about her stripping this goon.
