Re: Birthright: Tuornen OOC
I think a Quick Step back into where they came from and Safana casting Invisiblity 10' Radius if she has prepared that may be in order . Also if she has 2nd lvl Invisiblity prepared she could use on herself to avoid capture and then escape the city by herself since it has a much longer duration
. While we Escape via Filiberts blood ability if that is possible . Also Safana could hide out in the city for week until Filibert's Blood Ability recharges for the week, as well .

Re: Birthright: Tuornen OOC
If we can't take Carilon with us, then he has to die. At least that's how Renn sees it. Carilon has flouted the rules for war time and time again, executed innocent children for being "spies," and assassinated Duke Flaertes in peacetime. There's no way Renn's just going to let that slide, especially not since Renn holds Carilon responsible for Lywerd's raid on Ghonallison.
Unless somebody big enough can physically restrain him, Renn will summarily execute Carilon at the first opportunity once it's clear that we can't take him with us. If he has enough time, he'll stab him in the heart for that sweet sweet blood power. If not, he'll take the more prosaic option and cut his throat.

Safana has by far the best chance to get out. You can't lose Carillon at this point!
Re: Birthright: Tuornen OOC
OK after Kintire's IC post Filbert will let Safana behind and take Carillon.

Roald's happy to link up with the rest of the party. And thanks for the backup, Rocketer.

Re: Birthright: Tuornen OOC
In order for Safana to escape, she has to evade bloodhounds, rings of searchers with interlocked arms, and the risk of stumbling into mounted or foot patrols in the narrow streets.
As I noted in my earlier IC post, the outer walls of Caer Alam appear sooty and black. Now you can see why. Buckets of soot tossed down make it hard for anyone to climb the walls without leaving tracks. Not every inch is covererd, of course, but there was a lot of soot to work with given not only all the usual fires for cooking, laundry boiling, and so on, but recent acts of arson commited by or blamed on a certain Dwarf.

So, Safana alone but invsible. She'll cast spider climb, as per Kintire's notes.
But let's see a quick init between her and the searchers
INIT Safana

Footmen get a surprise roll. If they are surprised, Safana eludes them by some quick dodge or hop, or by hiding someplace and then darting away.

They don't see her, but she can't just slip past them, either. She's not immediately caught, but she's trapped in a closing ring of men.
She could easily scale the walls of the castle, but the soot might be a problem.
Actions?
The castle bailey is filling again with servants and some soldiers, from within the keep.

History prefers legends to men. It prefers nobility to brutality, soaring speeches to quiet deeds. History remembers the battle and forgets the blood. What ever history remembers of me if it remembers me at all, it shall only be the fraction of the truth.
Re: Birthright: Tuornen OOC
Ewan, I have written down that Foerde has prepared 3 castings of cure moderate and that he has only used both cure light wounds, prayer, obscuring mists.
If this count is accurate, the Foerde will cast another cure moderate on Duke Carilon.

Given the soot, the bloodhounds, and the other precautions against invisble persons, I will allow the Alamiens a tracking NWP roll to find or at least follow Safana.
