Re: Birthright: Tuornen OOC
backpedal and shoot at Roald a lot
firing into melee penalties do apply as he's gotten so close and is pressing attack. But close range armor negation pretty much cancels that for half the shots
They don't ALL fire. A couple in the rear hold their shots, so the ones who shoots can leapfrog in reverse.

Re: Birthright: Tuornen OOC
Very lucky Roald. Armor and dodging like crazy saves him from the close volley
Now the far shots from across the bailey
six of these as the guys are not worried about Rolad' far away sword. They do get firing into melee penalties and only medium range armor penbetration boost

Roald will, as per previous intrsuctions give me by the player, attempt to keep in melee, keep moving, and keep attacking. Cutting his way to the gatehouse, I would presume.

With bonuses, that actually hits the lightly armored boltman in front of him

Re: Birthright: Tuornen OOC
OK if possible to change action I have an idea:
Filbert can put his sword at Carillon's neck and tell all the guards to stop otherwise he will kill the duke. With a good bluff maybe we can have a good result and capture the Duke.
Again Filbert will not attack Carillon unless he does something tricky and will try subdual if possible, he will go for lethal damage only if is necessary.

Prepare an IC post for that, post it here, and I will quote it in my IC update.
Thanks.

Re: Birthright: Tuornen OOC
Crossbowmen flee down stairs/across battlements, leaving Roald free to run into the gatehouse.
If he lets them go, he can get inside.
But a couple of fast soldiers get up the steps the way he had come and attack him from the rear

Thta's 26 damage to Roald thus far.
Cuts, bruises, grazes, exhaustion-- it's taking a toll.

Re: Birthright: Tuornen OOC
Seeing his friends getting the upper hand of the bodyguards the little halfling doesn't withdraw and keeps slashing his short sword trying to get Duke Carillon. Even if his attacks don't seem to penetrate the Duke's armor the brutal force of Gunnar and the sneaky slashes of Renn manage to incapacitate Carillon. Seeing the Duke lying helpless at the floor and hearing guards coming their way Filbert doesn't hesitate and steps forward putting his blade at the Duke's neck. Without losing the Duke from his eyes and knowing that he might play a dirty trick he yells trying to sound more convincing possible:
"All guards drop your weapons now otherwise I will get your Duke's life."
