Back to Basics Chapter 1: Where are we ?

[Lord Skybolt]

"Let me at it !!!"With that Arnulf pulls the "curved sword" that he has been carrying loosely(on his back) with a crazed look in his eye as he does . As he moves to slash at the "worm" he scores a hit that should have killed it slices it through most of hits length as he steps up close to Isidar slice it up . And then step back to let Isidar swing at if she wishes .

Isidar calls on the power of her god to burn her foes seconds after Arnulf slices . With these flames the smell of crispy Grick fills the corridor as it falls to the floor dead .

Dalorna appears to be casting a spell...

[VAN]

Seeing Arnulf attack the worm Sara gets her rapier out and attempts to slash it, but her hit misses.

[VAN]

Right after Sara swings and misses the Grick, she hears something crawling down the hall towards the party so she says:

"Something is coming, be careful."

[kintire]

Alia's inspiring song also seems to be mentioning new foes approaching from right over there, and she is levelling her bow in that direction

[Roofdrak]

Isidar mumbles some incoherent words, then suddenly from her hands burst flames that shoot at the worm-monster. "Die unnatural being!"

[Lord Skybolt]

The victory celebration is short lived as another comes towards the party . All 8 feet of grick comes crawling down the passage towards Sara seemingly intent on having a Sara snack with it's tentacles waving around it's beak like mouth . The party is only aware of this one with the alert observations of Sara and Alia .

[Lord Skybolt]

As Isidar enchants her weapon hoping that this will help her Kill the grick more quickly . She moves to confront the Grick stepping in front of the Grick to stop it's advance on their only resident trap finder . She is slapped at by the Grick with a tentacle . It clumsily slaps at her shield doing nothing . While this is happening Sara tried to distract it by waving by slipping past and waving her sword in its "face" and, pulling back behind the protection of the dwarven priest . The rest of the party is waiting for the right moment to act while this is going on . The professor make sure nothing is coming up behind the party . Dalorna is preparing to cast a spell . Arnulf is staying behind to protect his sister . Alia readies her crossbow keeping a look out anything that might be looking to attack from the rear .

The rest of the party that are just standing around as look out and preparing to help when they can . Finally notice that there is door a to Arnulf's right . It is was unnoticed in that it looks like it was at one time painted to look like the rest of the passage . Also those not involved directly can see ahead that there is door at the end of this passage is possible door at the end of this corridor(about60 feet in length) that is barely seen in shadow . They look also to the second gricks left a another passage to the north .

Dalorna watches Isidar and tries to figure out what sort of magic the dwarf just used.

[Lord Skybolt]

As Isidar hit's the grick it thing screeches in pain, but still moves to attack her anyway . It perhaps looks like one more hit like that might put it down for good .

Dalorna quickly anoints Arnulf's sword with magic oil.

''Arnulf, kill that thing, please! I know you can do it."

[Lord Skybolt]

The Grick tries to kill Isidar trying to bite her but misses . But attacks several times with its tentacles on either of its mouth hitting two times smacking her in the face and the back . She feels as if the Grick whipping her with metal whip . Just after Isidar is almost driven to knees by these blows . Alia moves into place behind her just as Sara moves out of the way to let her through like a well choreographed dance . Just after the Grick whips at Isidar with its tentacles, she mutters under her breath the needed words to evoke the power of her healing belt she wears on Isidar wounds with touch . The wounds disappear as if they had never been there .

As the rest the party look on in awe Arnulf(screaming with delight) moves past Isidar then jumps on the Grick to propel him past it without it even having a chance to respond . He flips around it after doing so to be in position to attack it and does . He barely connects, but that is enough as he slices where its head would be . Taking off all beak like mouth and tentacles an all . The parts fall to floor with dull thud .

''Good job, Arnulf! Now, watch out in case there are more of these things. Isidar, are you okay? Is anyone hurt?"

[VAN]

"Way to go Arnulf and Isidar! If everyone is ok I think we should go. Apparently are 3 doors which one do you think is better? I would prefer the one here because we don't know if are more monsters ahead."

[VAN]
