Although this was posted on the 31st, I should have seen through the joke. I have seen other places start their joke a day early in an attempt to fool people.
There's always somebody who falls for it! Sometimes several. I've fallen for a couple myself. Saw through this one but I hope I helped feed it. Good one all around guys.

The original post did have fools and april italicized, together with expect (this one I didn't get), but they had that one line at the end that I think was precisely to let the joke hold one day
But yay! Very good joke, and completely unexpected too! I was looking around the forums for topic headers that might look like an April's Fool joke, and I never thought it would be this. I just clicked this one because it was the only written by a FoS member on April 1st (my time).
He's from Book of Crypts, Death's Cold Laughter. He was an evil jester, who was in fact the living shadow of the king. He was brought back in a later book, trapped as a true shadow.
Perhaps links to pranks from earlier years could be posted for newer members to see. Or have they already been removed.

The "farternity" joke webpage was excellent, from maybe two or three years back. I remember coming to the site and thinking DEAR GOD WE HAVE BEEN HACKED... BY A HACKER WHO ONLY BARELY UNDERSTANDS RUDIMENTARY HTML CODING...
