I've also discovered the adventure "The Mill Witch" which I also really like. It was from an old Ravenloft site. Saw it mentioned in another thread, very fond of it already.

Interesting. I hadn't read that one before. (Here's a link: The Mill Witch.)
It's from the Lonesome Road which apparently is Andrew Wyatt's site. (He was a member of the Kargatane and was later involved in the development of 3E Ravenloft.) So no wonder it's good.
PS: I like the signature...

Oh I know, used to love that site too.
But I'd usually counted on entirely original adventures. Part of the reason I want to do this is just to see how others HAVE done Ravenloft. In hind sight I think I could improve my game a lot.
I've really liked the info I've gotten here, keep them coming if you want.

a few more options:
Neither man nor beast is 1-4
Howls in the Night is 3-5 but could be toned down easily
Also, the Ghost of Mistmoor from Dungeon #35 is classic. It's for level 3-6, but could probably be toned down.

I can recommend both of these. I've started campaigns with both, and they always work (especially Neither Man Nor Beast).Gonzoron of the FoS wrote:a few more options:

In regards to Neither Man Nor Beast:

Given your handle, it is rather amusing.DoctorMoreau wrote:In regards to Neither Man Nor Beast:

I knew OF the adventure, just hadn't read it yet and didn't realize it was such low level *darts eyes*

Re: 1st Level and 2nd Edition Ravenloft
My standard Ravenloft campaign starts the PCs in Ghastria. For the first adventure, they venture out into the forest to track down a group of children that got lost playing when a storm arrived. The children took up shelter in an abandoned mill, which was being used as a dumping ground by a ghoul in service to the Marquis. The basics of that can be ported to anywhere.
The PCs went back to investigate further the next morning, just to find that the mill had been replaced by a theater. Scaena is an excellent place for low-level adventures because the real threat has absolutely nothing to do with your stats.
The PCs then escape Scaena onto the streets of Levkarest, leading to a bunch of intrigue between Ivana Boritsi and Ivan Dilisnya, ending with a very dramatic night at the opera--the party was split between the two, but then reunited at the opera, in the cousins' separate box seats. Just figuring out how to get back together without becoming complete social pariahs amped up the tension for the night.
Honestly, I find Ravenloft a wonderful place for low-level adventures, because most of the time, you're just trying to survive. Ravenloft's horrors have little to do with combat, I've found.
