Back to Basics Chapter 1: Where are we ?

Dalorna will now search the village for a boarding house, ordinary, etc where the party might find some food and drink, and possibly get to rest for a while.

Dalorna and the rest of the party go to find accommodations for the night . They are shown to several better huts in the village that are have been recently vacated by there owners for the party's use to stay in while they are here . The Hut's are close to the center of the village . They clustered around a central building that looks to be the town hall as it is the largest building in the village . The town hall does looks unlike the rest of the village in that it is made of stone and looks to be dwelling for some to live in possibly . They are told that the party will be held there and someone will tell them when it all is ready for the Heroic Strangers be thanked by the village as a whole .

As they are lead to the huts the party will see some things that are unusual in a middle ages style fishing village . There are several out houses at the edge of the village in land . It looks that the waste from the outhouses is diverted to some large community garden for use as possible fertilizer . The party also notice pry to the party while they await the beginning the party latter to night that the village is unusually well designed lay out to it as if some was directing where to build things for the most efficient use of space .

"Well, it looks as if we won't need to worry about acommodations. "


Dalorna smiles, looking about the town.


As much to herself as to anyone else, she says-

"This place seems very well laid out. "

Isidar comments, "Gond would be pleased with how the villagers have diverted their personal waste to be used as fertilizer and how well the village is laid out. It will be interesting to see how they celebrate the return of their children and honor us tonight." Mumbling to herself she adds, "I think these villagers would like to hear about Gond."

Never seen a village like this before, Arnulf thinks to himself. He looks around and sees if maybe he might be
able to offer or suggest anything that could help these people. He is, after all, a fisherman.

Never been to any party before either, and one in my honor. The young man shrugs to himself. It is what it is,
I guess. I hope there is a lot of food, cause I am hungry! Arnulf's stomach grumbles loudly as he walk over to their makeshift
lodgings. Poking his head inside he says to Lorna. "I don't feel like waiting around doing nothing. I am going to go fishing. That'll relax me."

He decides to look around the place, get a better feel for it. After all, he has never been to a fishing village. And it seems like a while he hasn't been fishing. He will look for a place to do exactly that.

Dalorna will accompany her brother on his fishing trip.

On hearing Arnulf dummy rumble one of the women of the village brings him some bread and cheese to tide him over until the feast .

Dalorna smiles at that.

How thougthful of them.

She keeps an eye out for anything like a wooden pier or a long sandbar- someplace to sit and fish.

The Professor takes a moment to address the others after they have been shown there accommodations.
"Well, our Mr. Yu seems to be an interesting enough individual. Did anyone else happen to catch his choice of words earlier? our 'honorable actions in regard to the plight of these village people in there time of need in my absence'? One could assume that Mr. Yu serves in some form of official capacity towards the village, though as a protector seems to be quite unrealistic. Unless of course he is a holy man or a practitioner of the art.
"One should also note the uncharacteristic addition of more modern amenities to the village as a whole. Proper sewage and an impressive overall layout point towards evidence of an outside influence. For me to say that Mr. Yu is that influence would be a dangerous assumption indeed so I will refrain from such an accusation. But it is quite apparent that there is more to the story of Mr. Yu. We should tred carefully tonight. This helpful gentlemen may indeed have a map of the area, but his request for absolute compliance in his questioning tonight has us already at a serious disadvantage.

Arnulf exclaims, somewhat embarassed "Oh.. uh... thank you ma'am!" He grins sheepishly as he eyes the food them looks
at his sister and smiles. "Here ya go. Here's some cheese and bread for you and your bird pet thingie." Arnulf breaks off some cheese and bread and gives it to Lorna. He eats it slowly, enjoying the food. Once they find a proper place to fish, Arnulf will pull out his trusty fishing pole and begin fishing! He whistles a happy tune and sighs.

Dalorna thanks Arnulf. Then, she feed her raven some cheese.

Alia listens to the professor's comments with close attention, occasionally glancing a little nervously at Isidar

Truly, master sage, your intellect and insight are the world's marvel. Your cogent and incisive analysis will remain constantly in my mind

She bows deeply and then gives a sidelong glance at Isidar again

We have already heard that Bane is worshipped hereabouts. Might he be this outside influence, and Mr Yu perhaps his representative here? If so perhaps, given the Black Lord's - attitudes - it might be wise not to, uh, discuss spiritual matters until we have a clearer understanding of this place?

Dalorna says-

" I'm sure the Professor and Isidar know a lot more about the gods. What I do recall from my lessons makes me a wee bit nervous about this, but the people here do seem quite friendly. "

The girl kicks a pebble off the path.

" Just because Bane has a scary reputation, that doesn't that mean the locals are going to want us for human sacrifices or something nasty like that. Maybe they honor Bane for his...ummm....lighter side? I make regular offerings to Myrkul, after all, and I'm nice."


She smiles at Alia and the others.

Sara quirks an eyebrow when Ping mentioned that he wants to speak every party member alone, this sounded a bit weird for the young woman. However says nothing for now and just nod in agreement.

"Sounds like a plan."

As the time of the party approaches the whole village seems in a jubilant mood at the thought of such an event at there little village . One of the mothers of the rescued children comes up to Sara "Ping wishes to speak to you now . If you don't mind following me to his house ."And with that the women waits for Sara to follower her .
