Maybe you could ask our friendly DM to use the pathfinder monk?

It get's a lot of little tweaks that imho go a long way towards fixing the monk.

That's what you get for being a silly-goose and not wearing armor!

I prefer that unarmored characters be at something of a disadvantage in toe-to-toe battle with armored foes. I don't think of monks and similiar 'light' types as 'front-row fighters' at all. I'd place the monk closer to the rogue in combat terms: an opportunist who strikes at weak points. Use mobile tactics to avoid getting stuck slugging it out with better protected enemies.

No to the Pathfinder Monk, sorry. But I would not object too strenuously to one of the classes from Tome of Battle.

Hey Rock,

I sent you a PM some time ago with a proposition for an adaptation of Monk. I'd like to know what you think before I actually make the sheet for my character.

Ahem. Keep the Slow Fall; quick reflexes can help to find handholds and footholds to slow down a fall. I'd prefer you remove Loa Power and Loa Command. Other than that, all seems fine.
