Nice poster, I'd put in some cover or it may be torn.
You'll be real Pathfinder, when you will use every rule intended for situation, by the book

Officially, LadySoth and Raf are pathfinders.Rafael wrote:Am I, then?
Or are you?
Aren't we all?
Twin Agate Dragons is also now a pathfinder.
And Paladin can also be a Pathfinder, if Paladin would like.
In short, yes, we are all, the Pathfinders. (anyone posting on this thread at any rate, )

Actually, I run a campaign based on Pathfinder Beta rules set. It strethes for two years now.
At first I was enamored with Pathfinder: it sorts many D&D 3.x issues, gives every class something special, and makes every character powerful, capable and important. But... every rose has a thorn. There is whole bunch of rules, feats and situational modifiers. I tend to forget about them and I'm not sure, if I ever ran a combat without a mistake. Moreover, using a combat grid, calculating all bonuses, maneuverer etc makes combat long and boring, no matter how good DM you are. Fight with 12 drow fighter/thieves blocked by 1 sorcerer lasted over two hours of our time.
The key is whole system acts well if every piece fit it's place. If you iforget about one, even small modifier, whole balance crumbles. It was case, when party fought a demon. I forgot about + to his AC when moving and against Attacks of Opportunity. Fighter hit him twice and killed. Players said: "Hell, it was to easy. Are we sure, it was THE demon"? Funny thing, at instant I decided it was barely one part of demon's essence and sent my heroes in search for the rest.
So, I'd like to call myself a Pathfinder, but don't know if I'm worthy enough!

If you find the D20 stuff so slow and complicated, why not go with a simpler system? AD&D 2E works just fine for Ravenloft, of course.
Delight is to him- a far, far upward, and inward delight- who against the proud gods and commodores of this earth, ever stands forth his own inexorable self.

It's not a poster. It's a vinyl banner, UV resistant.Paladyn wrote:Nice poster, I'd put in some cover or it may be torn.

Yes, yes, I thought of it but... there is always some "but", isn't it? I don't like mending in mechanics, every time a house rule was introduced, it caused some damages. What I'am pointing to is, in my group there is a monk/sorcerer, I'd have pretty much hard time converting him to AD&D. Second thing, we already had one conversion from D&D 3.x to Pathfinder, I don't want another one and my players surely too.ewancummins wrote:If you find the D20 stuff so slow and complicated, why not go with a simpler system? I'm almost certain, that if I run a campaign set in of TSR/WotC worlds it will be surely AD&D campaign. This one will be finished with Pathfinder, we gave up already on being strict with rules, fun is priority.
