Very good plan. Let's hope that the murder of an 'evil' person for his money turns out better than Delthrin's death....kintire wrote:Okay, I have a cunning repayment plan.
Step 1) Borrow 5,000 gold pieces from a banker/moneylender.
Step 2) Pay the fine.
Step 3) Find an evil person/people/entity.
Step 4) Kill them and take their stuff.
Step 5) Pay back the loan with the stuff.
I have this "strategy" thing licked, I tell you.

Delthrin's death turned out fine. It was the betrayal afterwards that caused the trouble.Very good plan. Let's hope that the murder of an 'evil' person for his money turns out better than Delthrin's death....
Anyway, what's this tuff about murder? Killing evil things for their stuff is perfectly legal in Cormyr.

Suuuure....ask Rardi how legal it is to just go and whack somebody because you dislike him. Unlike Shana, Cormyrian law distinguishes between human beings and monsters. Kill a mind flayer? No biggie. Cut down a nobleman because you disapprove of his non-criminal moral choices= you are in deep trouble.kintire wrote:Delthrin's death turned out fine. Why do you always assume I'm talking about criminal activity? I have, from the beginning of my plan, been talking about going adventuring and dungeoneering to get loot from full on monsters, the old fashioned way.
ooo.. chartered adventurers eh? And what "Adventures" do these chartered-and-thus-completely-legal "adventuerers" have eh? Door to door conversion efforts against orcs? Whist drives with Goblins? A spot of jolly old cricket with those Gnolls across the ridge? Or, perchance, do they, just occasionally kill evil things for their stuff?Adventurers must acquire a charter before undertaking any operation as a group.
hmmm... almost Moorkroftian in your wild jumping to conclusionsUnlike Shana, Cormyrian law distinguishes between human beings and monsters.

The old fashioned way is fine. What Cormyrian society as a whole doesn't like is adventurers treating cities and towns like dungeons. The sword charter laws are , in part, a result of distrusting adventuers because so many are bloodthirsty freebooters, motivated by greed and the love of killing.kintire wrote:Suuuure right back at'cha

I would like to point out, since both you and master Moorkroft appear to have a vastly inflated idea of Shana's bloodthirstyness, that she has never in fact killed anyone. What Cormyrian society as a whole doesn't like is adventurers treating cities and towns like dungeons. Shana isn't very bloodthirsty at all, as you say. I'm not talking about your PC, but a common Cormyrian perception of the 'stereotypical freebooter.' Many Cormyrians have very mixed feelings on 'adventurers.' Adventurers are useful to have around when monsters threaten, but they are often socially unacceptable.kintire wrote:I would like to point out, since both you and master Moorkroft appear to have a vastly inflated idea of Shana's bloodthirstyness, that she has never in fact killed anyone. What Cormyrian society as a whole doesn't like is adventurers treating cities and towns like dungeons. Yeah, the other PC are mostly good guys[ Shana is postergirl for CG, for example]. They argue about methods, but they are generally trying to do the right thing and help others. Your PC is a deeply evil %#$%@, and I mean that in the nicest way.tarlyn wrote:Hey ewan, speaking of killing, I think I take the cake!![]()

How much does Glim know about a standard Mind Flayers Abilities . As he will tell Threan what they can do and I did not add in the (Knowledge Checks)Collector of Stories Skill trick bonus to those Skill checks I PMed you with, so add a +5 to them for their totals then . For the purpose of such information given to Threan please . You can PM me with what he Told Threan in a PM then .
On subject of making magic items . Someone does need to approach Glim about making them on commission as he is the soft hearted of the two brothers .

I'm OK with the "cunning plan" provided we find a moneylender willing to dish out that amount of gold.
