Re: Let's show 'em how it's done!

Opinion: If equality and representation is the goal, then adding disclaimers is somewhat counterproductive to the cause. If you don't add disclaimers justifying the evil of a non-LGBTQ+ character (or mentioning that sexuality etc is not the root of said evil) then why do it for an LGBTQ+ character? ...

Re: Let's show 'em how it's done!

My vote will always be for QtR to promote Ravenloft specifically, and horror in general. Leave the trendy s*** for the individual authors to include or exclude, as they see fit. I personally don't see a point in putting corners to imagination..

Re: "Domains of Delight" in upcoming 5e adventure

Could be some stuff in that book to poach for the Shadow Rift, or, Tepest (if you prefer the Shadow Rift less of an eyesore).

I'm not interested either way. Just sayin'.

Re: Jester's Review of Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft

Why is Bram Stoker the authoritative voice of Strahd von Zarovich?

Not sure I follow. Actually, I don't.

Whether I agree with such an assessment, if I choose to base Strahd on a particular folkloric version of vampire, or not, is irrelevant in regards to the question.

Call it curiosity...

Re: Jester's Review of Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft

Edit: i would just add i find REALLLLYYY weird that Lyssa Van Zarovich can now be the reincarnation of Tatyana. So we have the choice between incompetent writting team or... incest is cool now ? WTF is this writting team ?! Christian/Adam and Eve digs aside (biting tongue! Heh), the incest angle as...

Re: [VRGtR]: Alhoon's ramblings and discussions of them

I want someone to explain why is it so important to have an equal amount of evil characters of all genders (although, correct me if I am wrong but I didn't hear about any transgender or gender-fluid NPC appearing in the new book, unless if Hazlik finaly managed to take over Eleni's body*). Yes we k...

Re: Jester's Review of Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft

There are those of you that are cool with VRGtR, and there are those of you who are not cool with VRGtR. To those who are cool with it, try selling the community here ideas from or inspired by the book. Stop selling Wizards and their...jazz. If the focus remains on them and not their offering, then ...

Re: Jester's Review of Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft

Jester: Sounds to me like you're now travelling a bit in the woods. It happens to all of us man. Just look down from time to time and you might see our tread. It's just a fork in the road (easy for me to say to you now, but I carry my own roadside tales). You can only get so wet. No use dodging pudd...

Re: Jester's Review of Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft

From the review... But this book goes a step farther referring to Ez “replacing her leg with a splendid prosthetic after a werewolf attack.” Emphasis added. Wizards of the Coast really, really want readers to know they’re sorry for even accidentally implying people should be ashamed for having an a...

Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof

That's a 7th-level spell and requires a level 13 cleric. How many of them are in Ravenloft? It's interesting that Madam Eva (according to Curse of Strahd) has it in her spell list. Also Viktra Mordenheim is described as being able to heal or replace any body part, so she's another option  Ver...

Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof

Obviously lesser restoration doesn't teleport a character out of a purple worm. That's a douchebag example you just dropped man. Haha It's a stretch, which is why it's such a great example. The bite of the purple worm says: A swallowed creature is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against ...

Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof

Yeah, I was just going through different editions and physical injury isn't covered, but it is. 2E Cure Blindness no, 3E Remove Blindness yes. Either way, apples and oranges... Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof

Well, if you rule that lesser restoration can remove permanent blindness, then that means it restores sight by way of healing whatever damage caused the blindness. Same should then be true of the paralyzed condition. It makes sense, though I find it super ironic that by that logic Lesser Restoratio...

Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof

The paralyzed effect of a spinal injury feels like physical effect not healed by lesser restoration . Like you wouldn't regrow eyes that were removed just because it removes blindness. Well, if you rule that lesser restoration can remove permanent blindness, then that means it restores sight by way...

Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof

A regenerate spell would absolutely be an option and should remove that spinal damage, as it regrows severed members and reattaches held ones. A spine would arguably count. That's a 7th-level spell and requires a level 13 cleric. How many of them are in Ravenloft? There's Himmelsk Naeve Pieter Jerg...
