Thunderbird

Thunderbird is a dangerous hard drug that is being sold by the Lotus Society of the Divided States. The substance is created through purely scientific means, being a product of chemistry, with zero elements of magic being involved.

Production and distribution of the drug is currently monopolized by the Lotus Society, who keep the particulars of the production method a secret. Thunderbird is rendered into pills, which are stamped with the image of the Thunderbird of North-American mythology[1]. Whether the stamp or the name came first is currently unknown. These pills are sold or put to use by members of the Lotus Society as they travel. In people who take the pills, Thunderbird generates sensations of euphoria so strong that those under the influence act not unlike living zombies; capable of moving and acting if directed to do so, but otherwise mostly insensate. Unsurprisingly, the drug is extremely addictive.

Janie Augustus, Darklord of the Divided States, was familiar with the drug. She described it as "a lot of fun until your kidneys give out", indicating that while the drug makes its users feel great pleasure, prolonged use is as good as a death sentence.

It should be noted that exposure to other strongly pleasurable influences and manifestations of magic can help pull an addict from the stupor caused by prolonged use of the drug. Once this clarity has been achieved, it is up to the willpower and commitment of an addict whether they can get clean or not.
