The Bridling[1] is the seventh and final epoch of the Vaasi Timeline, following the Bucking and ending with the Second Judgement. The rebellion and chaos of the previous era ended with the ascension of ][Prince Jokum Rivtoff]]. Llike Prince Gorkyn Vistin before him, Prince Kokum bloodily put down any who dared rival him. He effectively ruled for 35 years, most of those as regents for the child princes from other families. The Riding survived Jokum's death under suspicious circumstances, as he solidified Nyrvalg Vaasa's stability and power. The nation became a trading powerhouse during an era that would seem like it would stretch into perpetuity.
As is the nature of things, the prosperity was not to last. The end of the Riding is known by the Nova Vaasans to end with the tearing of Nova Vaasa from its home world and arrival into the Land of Mists. The Church of the Lawgiver calls this the Second Judgement, a punishment to the nation for its slide into hubris and petty greed.
