The Forgotten One

First mentioned in the article "Little Horrors[1], the Forgotten One is the patron of the Fine-sized savages known as the Genfigenus. It might answer the calls of other creatures, but it does not appear that anyone other than those ill-smelling marauders even knows of its existence, and they are highly unlikely to share the secret of his existence with outsiders.

In the mythology of the Genfigenus, the Forgotten One is a quasi-demonic entity whose name and appearance have been wholly forgotten, even by its most devout worshipers. Its sole motivation is malice, and it lashes out from the shadows, unseen and unremembered. No one but the Genfigenus seem to be capable of remembering even its bare-bone existence.

Worship of the Forgotten One always involved bloodshed. When conducting ceremonies, the Genfigenus either make a live blood sacrifice of the weakest member of their tribe, or - by preference - of prisoners taken during battles with other tribes. The roasted carcass of the sacrificial victim is then consumed by the tribe.

  • It has been suggested that the Forgotten One is somehow a racial memory of Wudr, Darklord of Madego. How this could be possible in contravention of Wudr's curse, is unknown - unless it is but one more factor that torments Wudr, to have him remembered only by creatures so hostile to his own species and so despised by them.
  • It is theorized that the Forgotten One was the Spirit that visited Falkovnia province on the Night of Music. If so, its influence (even if not consciously remembered) may have inspired Drakov to persevere in the cruel 'entertainments' and other crimes of his human counterpart.
