Domains of Dread in the Description of Invidia and of Gabrielle Aderre says, that Isabella was an "outcast Vistana" (p. 53) and Gabrielle a "half-Vistana" (p.52); which source led you to make them half- respective querter-Vistana?

According to Gaz IV, Gabrielle is the "daughter of the half-Vistana fortune-teller Isabella Aderre" A retcon, probably. Not sure if that's the first source to say it, but it's the most recent canon info. I suppose a mention of the discrepancy is in order on her page (and on most of the Aderre family) -- Gonzoron 14:53, 25 November 2011 (UTC)

OK, I did the research. Isabella being half-vistani (or less) goes all the way back to the Black Box. In Realm of Terror, p89 it says Gabrielle's mother was an outcast because she was "not of full blood," and says Gabby is only "part" vistani (not half). You're right that Domains of Dread doesn't specify why Isabella was outcast, and does label her "vistana", but also, it's a bit vague about Gabby. It says she "has the abilities" of a half-vistani, but never says she is one directly. Her statblock says so, but that's probably because she has the stats of a half-vistani even if she isn't really one. Isabella is outright called half-visani in SotDR, p28, and it's not a simple misprint because there's a sentence explaining that she was cast out because of being half-blooded. And, as I mentioned, Gaz IV agrees. It makes sense too, because The Evil Eye says Isabella was captured for years by her captor (i.e. Drakov). If she were truly full vistani, she would have become mortu by the end of her imprisonment, and had no power to foretell her daughter's no-baby curse. -- Gonzoron 19:56, 17 December 2011 (MST)
