Talk:Countess Ravenia von Zarovich
The same person as Queen Ravenovia, n'est-ce pas? Which is the right title?Cure 10:16, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
I don't recall ever hearing her and Barov referred to as count and countess. I believe it was always King and Queen. Away from books now, but can't check. I believe the story was that Strahd used Count out of respect for his parents, not wanting to be King, even though he had the right to the title. -- Gonzoron 14:33, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
- Gaz 1 (the book I'm working through for references) refers to Barov as "Count." It's entirely possible that this is an error though. --ChrisNichols 14:37, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
I6 and House of Strahd both say Queen and King and spell her name Ravenovia. I can't find a reference to their titles in I, Strahd, but it had her name as Ravenia. They are surely the same people, but I'm unsure whether to call the name and title changes a mistake or a retcon. Turns out that bit about Strahd adopting Count out of respect was merely Rotipher's homebrew theory. I guess I'll go with the Gaz as the most recent and definitive, but it's tough to argue with I6. :) "Bah, what do you know about Strahd, Hickmans?" -- Gonzoron 16:04, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
