The Stone of Death is a magical stone slab that is located in the Catacombs of Kartakass (aka "Caverns of the Undead Priestess", in area 6). It feeds upon the life essence of victims tied down to it, and it grants the person who sacrifices the victim in such a way to assume the victim's appearance. Radaga formerly made use of it during the time when she lived in the Catacombs. It can only be seriously damaged by magical means.[1]

A missing Dread Possibility culled from Gazetteer I posited that the Stone of Death was tempting the Beast of the Hills to use the Stone's vile powers to assume a normal human form.[2]
