Silverwolf
Silverwolf was a magical silver dagger gifted to Wick of the Chibiloft Crew when he passed the grueling Test of High Sorcery at the Tower of Wayreth on Krynn.
Because the dagger was given to him with the remark that it would 'replace the sword he must now give up forever', Wick developed a dislike for Silverwolf and failed to properly study its properties. Had he done so, he would have discovered that the silver blade was exactly what he needed. Its enchantments made it easily as potent a weapon as any longsword, with the added advantage that it would boost its wielder's strength and speed. The dagger possessed an intelligence of its own, and sincerely desired only to help and serve its owner.
Had Wick not let anger cloud his judgment, he would have discovered that the dagger was not only a worthy replacement for a sword, but an ally that would be on his side no matter what. Instead, he regarded it as an insult and only carried it as a placeholder because he was used to bearing arms.
The first - and only - time Wick wielded Silverwolf was in rage, to strike down his parents' murderer while inside the Tower of Wayreth. This was a clear violation of the laws of the Orders of High Sorcery and an act of blasphemy against Lunitari, patron goddess of the Order of the Red Robes to which Wick belonged. Silverwolf was weakened by this transgression, but continued to function for the next twenty-nine years as Wick travelled the world of Toril. Its intelligence still held out hope that Wick would come to recognize its nature and come to appreciate it as an ally, but this hope was cruelly betrayed when Wick blasphemed out loud, cursing both Lunitari and Mystra.
The strain of this second blasphemy was too much for Silverwolf to endure, and it shattered as soon as Wick's boots touched ground in the Demiplane of Dread. It was not allowed the dignity of rest, nor the respect of being reforged into its original shape; Wick instead blended its shards with black mithral and forged it into the longsword Leadenwolf.
