A nobleman born in Naples, Italy in 1579, Romeo Giacamo Galli[1] was inspired by the play Romeo & Juliet to go to London and become an actor. He was known for immersing himself in his acting roles. So much so, that he accidentally convinced a fellow actor named Leo Scanzi that his affections for Leo's wife Madonna Scanzi were real in their acting the parts of Romeo and Juliet. Bitterly jealous, Leo poisoned Galli, leaving him to die in the hands of Madonna. Soon after, the Red Death reanimated Romeo as a vampire. Romeo had his revenge on Leo, striking him down. Unfortunately, this action drove Madonna mad, leaving her to spend many years into old age to die alone.
Romeo had immersed himself so fully in the Romeo role that he now delusionally believes he is that character. He is always on the hunt for his perfect Juliet and employs a network of spies to help facilitate that goal. Ironically, Juliet, the sword that he carries, holds the spirit of Madonna, but he refuses to acknowledge her appeals to him as nothing more than madness.
