Overview
Ravenkin are generally good-aligned, sentient creatures almost indistinguishable from ravens.[1][2] They cast spells as first level sorcerers.[3]
Ravenkin can be encountered in the following domains: Barovia[4], Falkovnia[5], the Shadow Rift[6], Tepest[7]
Player Rules
Rules for playing Ravenkin can be found in Dragon Magazine #262, in the article "Half-Pint Heroes." This is a 2E article, so the rules should be modified for other editions. There, Ravenkin are listed as avian humanoids with +2 Int, -1 Str and Con.
Lifestyle and Culture
Ravenkin use their claws (feet) like hands, to manipulate items and even wield small weapons such as daggers, knives, or javelins. They eat insects, berries and carrion.[1]
Ravenkin are superstitious when it comes to the moon, reading omens in moonsigns such as phases, halos or rainbows.
Ravenkin work closely with the Keepers of the Black Feather.[8]
Precision
John W. Mangrum, when asked whether ravenkin were correctly classified as monstrous humanoids, confirmed that they are and added that they differed from magical beasts in that they "have spellcasting ability, they have a unique society, and they advance by character class."
