A character from the L'Morai children's tale The Ear-Tied Hare. In the story, Quince has the greatest physical strength of the animals. He is also given the highest social position because he takes on the work the others eschew. When he steps on the ear of the Lop-Eared Hare, the rabbit's squeal startles and frightens Quince to the point he goes into a thrashing fury, injuring and/or frightening the animals nearby. Lop-Ears suffers the consequences for this though[1]

A red tattoo bearing his image with a spear in the back marks a denizen of l'Morai as one of the Carnival l'Morai freaks.[2] It is imposed by the magic of the ruby pendant of l'Morai. Quince's image appearing on the side of the pendant is recognition that the master of Carnival l'Morai is also the top citizen of l'Morai.[3]
