Professor Stretton belonged to the Department of Medicine at the University of Il Aluk where he and his fellows used disarming terms to describe often ghoulish work. Ernst Turagdon, while still a child, asked the professor what sort of treatment must be meted out to the corpses there for the professor to feel the need of describing their use euphemistically as being for "research purposes". There is no further reference to the professor and thus nothing can be said as to whether he escaped, or not, the destruction of Il Aluk by the Requiem.
