Lord Nikolai Wachter

Lord Nikolai Wachter is a deceased NPC from the 5th Edition module Curse of Strahd. In life, he was husband to Lady Fiona Wachter and father to Stella Wachter and to Nikolai and Karl Wachter. Three years prior to the module, he perished of disease. His body has been preserved by the Gentle Repose spell cast by Lady Fiona, and she secretly sleeps with his cadaver every night.

Nikolai could be Strahd's Enemy, as revealed by Madame Eva's reading of the fortunes of Ravenloft, but only if raised from the dead. In the later part of his life, he had came to know that Barovia's salvation could only come if Strahd was eliminated. If revived, he is represented a Lawful Neutral Noble NPC Archetype.
