Nicole Misroi

Nicole Misroi is the former wife of Anton Misroi, murdered by him by throwing her in quicksand in the bogs of Souragne to drown. He suspected her of infidelity due to the manipulations of Nanaea, his own mistress. Anton confirmed his suspicions when he found Nicole in the company of another plantation owner. Although the unnamed plantation owner was merely listening to Nicole's sorrow over her unhappy marriage, Anton believed them to be committing adultery. He called for Nanaea's gang of bandits and had Nicole and her friend thrown into the bog to drown. After dismissing Nanaea and her thugs, Anton enjoyed watching the last moments of his supposed transgressors. Before she died, Nicole cursed Anton. After they perished, Nicole and the unnamed plantation owner reached out and dragged Anton into the quicksand with them. It is here that Anton cried out to somebody, anybody, to prevent him from dying. He eventually arose from the quicksand as a wretched zombie lord.

As a dread possibility, Nicole and her companion may live on as ancient dead and scour the roads between Port d'Elhour and Marais d'Tarascon when the moon is full.
