Mippon are Tiny-sized herd animals that are native to the domain of Madego. They look like tiny, fuzzy llamas[1] with hairless rat tails. They mostly eat non-poisonous plants and fungi, but will also opportunistically feed on carrion if they can get it without a fight. They do not hunt.
The Chi-Folken have domesticated Mippon, but there are still many herds of wild Mippon that wander freely around Madego. Mippon make especially useful herd animals due to their low-level regeneration and capacity for autotomy[2]; the ability to cleanly discard limbs if pressured to do so. Owing to their regeneration, a Mippon can be harvested repeatedly without killing it, and will heal completely if treated with care. They are also useful as draft animals, mounts and a source of dairy and wool.
