Mikael Trient is an oneirologist and powerful wizard. Because his research offended the Nightmare Man, that mysterious being kidnapped Mikael's fiancé, Katerina. Trient is using an Amulet of Bastellus Control to command a bastellus to gather dream energy in the hopes of taking out the Nightmare Man.[1]
The bastellus, meanwhile, has had other plans. It was drawing upon Rhianna's latent psychic powers and nightmares in order to throw off its oppressor, but to no avail. Because of his enslavement of the bastellus, Trient is partially responsible for the death of Rhianna.[1]
Trient's familiar is a midnight cat.[2] He lives in a well-guarded residence[3] and frequently purchases herbs from Jarcard's Herbalist Shop.[4]
