Margaret Landsdale was on her homeworld a famous hero and a skilled alchemist and transmuter. Beyond being an adventurer, she was also an arcane researcher. She performed an experiment on her cat familiar Jinx to boost his intelligence. This would prove to lay the foundation for her downfall, as Jinx's increased intelligence allowed him to feel lonely during her periods of absence and alienated by her perceived disregard for his life. When Margaret fell in love with a fighter comrade-in-arms, Jinx became bitterly jealous and ultimately manipulated Margaret's lover into a trap where he was murdered by enemy barbarians. Instead of becoming closer to the cat, Margaret became fatalistic and began research on a terrible earthquake potion to wipe out the enemy hordes. As Margaret's life essence was draining away, she bid her familiar goodbye, but he cursed her, revealed his betrayal, and blinded her before ultimately abandoning her.[1]
Her former residence would become the center of a new Floating Pocket Domain with Jinx as the darklord.[2]
