Makara of Jalanka

The Makara of Jalanka is a Makara sent by Varuna to lower the waters around an abandoned temple so that the temple may be restored. However, the transition into the Land of Mists cut off the makara from its patron and driven it mad. It is now eager to rid the land of the evil it senses, and it is determined that flooding the land is the best way to do so. Unfortunately that would mean destroying Jalanka, so the people of that village keep the makara distracted with offerings of food and lies that there is no great evil afoot in Sri Raji.
