Luzander

Luzander is the capitol city of Lilliend in the Wartorn Cluster. It used to be the seat of the domain's oldest noble family, the Weisücher, but is now in the hands of the reigning Lenkherr family. The city is located on the part of the domain known as le Bas.

By the estimation of Ciska, the city is a wretched place. The locals are so ridiculously proud of its history and prestige as the capitol that they stubbornly refuse all changes - even beneficial ones. The whole city is traditionally built of wood (even the royal palace), making it a fire trap in dry times, and a breeding ground for mold and disease during the wet seasons. In addition, the roads are unpaved and patently unsafe, going from muddy morass to frozen ice slicks as the year progresses.

In spite of recent queens attempting to make improvements, Luzander is rebuilt according to tradition every time it suffers damage. New edifices and services are either scornfully ignored or sabotaged. If asked about attempts to improve the city, locals will dismiss these as temporary whims, boasting that the queen will return to tradition soon enough.
